VoltDigest: Electric Transport Industry News
VoltDigest is an independent English-language news platform focused on the full electric-transport industry rather than passenger cars alone. It covers commercial road transport, buses, trucks, aviation, maritime and ports, rail, micromobility, charging infrastructure, batteries and working machinery.
Source Network
The production collector polls 40 validated RSS and Atom sources: specialist media, manufacturers, regulators, certification authorities, research organizations and industry bodies. Each source has an explicit tier, sector scope, language, health record and content exclusions. Protected or unstable sources remain in a separate connector watchlist instead of being scraped silently.
Editorial Pipeline
Every candidate is normalized, filtered for transport relevance and deduplicated by canonical URL, content fingerprint and story key. An LLM prepares a neutral English brief, an independent critic checks it against the available source evidence, and deterministic gates verify recency, source tier, factual structure, taxonomy, uniqueness and editorial relevance. Items that do not clear every gate stay in the review queue.
Publishing Surface
The FastAPI application renders the news index, category and topic pages, permanent article URLs, a public JSON API and RSS. Canonical URLs, OpenGraph metadata, robots.txt and a generated sitemap make every approved story independently indexable while preserving a direct link to the original source.
Operations
The web server, collector and optional distributor run as separate supervised containers with independent SQLite volumes, health checks, backups and authenticated ingest/editor APIs. Test and production deployment definitions use immutable Docker images, Traefik routing and CI/CD checks.
Product Value
VoltDigest turns a fragmented stream of transport announcements into a compact industry-intelligence layer. Readers can follow material developments across transport modes without wading through generic automotive coverage, promotional posts or unrelated energy news.
