ClubRadio (MIPT)

ClubRadio was a student internet radio project in the MIPT campus network in 2002-2004. Its address was clubradio.7ka.mipt.ru, and the stream focused mainly on electronic music.

What listeners could do

• listen to the music stream over the local network;
• request a track through a web form;
• vote for music;
• follow track ratings;
• see what had played recently.

How it worked

The service ran physically on personal computers in the MIPT campus. The web interface and the streaming setup connected early web technology with Shoutcast/Icecast and Winamp DSP. At the time, this made the campus network not only infrastructure, but also a shared musical space shaped by its listeners.

The screenshots show a modern reconstruction of the ClubRadio interface in the visual language of the early 2000s, based on the surviving project description and remembered mint-green colour scheme.
